According to several research, the growth of the tea industry in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5% between 2021 and 2026. However, the impact of the pandemic on the industry as a whole and on the end users have been immense.

According to a report published by Statista Research Development, in the fiscal year of 2021, India has produced 1.2 billion kilograms of tea. The major area of plantations include Assam and West Bengal.

According to the same research, in the year 2021, the value of tea export from India mounted up to 56 billion Rupees. Although, the amount might seem havoc, this number was a dip from the previous year. However, the value of coffee after its export, went up to 53 billion Rupees, which saw a rise when compared to the previous year.

Since its inception, the consumption of tea has hardly seen a dip in the country. The same research showcased that in the fiscal year of 2021, the approximate consumption of the volume of tea was 1.1 billion kilograms. Every year-on-year, this drink continues to be the country’s favourite.
